What are ceramides?: Ceramides are key lipids found in our skin cells, they serve to prevent our skin from outside damage, as well as lock in moisture. The primary function of these lipids is to guard against water loss, making them a vital part of moisturized and youthful skin. However, with progressing age and other environmental factors, such as cold weather, the production of ceramides in our cells can start to decline. As a result, our skin can become dry and irritated, which can lead to an increase in wrinkles.
Ceramides are most commonly found in moisturizers and applied topically. In fact, a small study conducted by the Tokai University School of Medicine found that women who applied phytoceramides, plant derived ceramides, to their skin for three weeks saw an improvement in skin hydration.
Here at Laser Touch Medical Clinic we offer our signature Ageless Peptide Treatment Cream, a moisturizer rich not only in ceramides, but also in peptides and Vitamin E. These skin-restoring agents are formulated to fight against signs of aging and hydrate dry skin, restoring a youthful healthy glow. This innovative moisturizer's five peptide complexes stimulate collagen production, repairs visible skin damage, increases the appearance of skin's firmness and elasticity, and replenish the skin's surface to calm signs of sensitization. The ceramides contained in the moisturizer effectively improve the look and feel of dry, dehydrated skin, while Vitamin E protects the skin against environmental stressors and sun damage. This versatile product is ideal for use up to twice daily or as needed to restore hydration and fight against signs of aging within the skin.
For most skin types, use as recommended by the physician.
