Microneedling: what to know
Microneedling (also known as the Vampire Facial or PRP) is not as daunting as the name suggests. Our microneedling procedure stimulates collagen production, reduces acne scars and pore size, as well as, treats hyperpigmentation.
This is an extremely safe procedure and when combined with proper skin care, can help you achieve younger-looking skin. Results can last up to 18 months and will not interfere with your other aesthetic treatments (Botox and filler).
PRP or platelet-rich plasma therapy uses your own plasma and platelets (blood cells) to trigger your body’s natural healing process. Your skin will feel and look rejuvenated after just one microneedling treatment, although three sessions are recommended by our doctors.
We use a reciprocal-based pen instead of a spring-based pen unlike other clinics which produces more uniform and enhanced results with a lower risk of skin damage.
Process:
Blood is drawn from your arm - our doctors will draw one vial from you and spin it in a centrifuge.
Numbing - our staff will help numb your skin and prep it for your microneedling procedure.
Injection - the platelet dense part of your blood will be injected into your skin. We call this your “liquid gold”.
After-care:
Avoid scrubbing your skin vigorously for the first 12-24 hours.
We suggest staying away from substances that disrupt platelet activity (pain relievers, blood thinners, steroids, alcohol, smoking, caffeine).
Please be careful with extreme temperature changes (sauna or ice bath).
Use a gentle cleanser.
Be sure to use sunscreen.
Your skin may be red and you may bleed a little after the procedure concludes. This is where the name “Vampire Facial” originates from.

Fact vs. myth: retinol edition
There are many misconceptions about retinol and its uses. Dr. Kamran Hakimian and Dr. Tina Hakimian hope that they can clear up some of the misunderstandings that you may have about retinol products.
MYTH: The “Purge”
Many people believe that retinol causes them to experience a period of “purging” that involves peeling, irritation, and breakouts. This, however, is not true. Starting with a low amount of retinol and gradually increasing frequency or amount can help you avoid the severe side effects. Results usually show around 12 weeks after starting treatment.
2. MYTH: Retinol vs. Retin-A
Retinol is a form of vitamin A that naturally occurs. Retin-A is a chemical compound related to vitamin A. Retinol is found in over-the-counter products and is weaker than Retin-A which must be prescribed by a doctor.
3. FACT: You can start Retinol early
It is acceptable and, at times, recommended that young people start using retinol. It is completely safe and keeps skin looking healthy and youthful!
4. FACT: Retinol must be used regularly.
If you wish to see results, you must regularly incorporate retinol into your skincare routine. Your skin will adapt to the potency of the retinol you use therefore you need to increase the strength or amount you use as you continue to use the product. If you stop using it, you will have to start over again from zero.

Your First Botox Appointment: What to Expect
If you are considering getting Botox for the first time and are unfamiliar with what this process looks like, Laser Touch Medical Clinic is here to help.
The first step is to make an appointment for a consultation. At this initial appointment, doctors Kamran Hakimian and Tina Hakimian will be available to discuss your aesthetic goals. They will answer any questions you may have and provide guidance on the best treatment for you. This consultation typically lasts around 30 minutes and can be easily scheduled by calling our office or submitting a contact form through our website.
Once you decide on a treatment route, our staff will assist you in applying any numbing cream that you may need. We suggest that you purchase your own numbing cream if you would like to make Botox a regular addition to your regular skin maintenance routine. You should put 1-2 layers on before arriving at your appointment.
A typical Botox treatment will take around 20-30 minutes. Our experienced doctors will ensure that this process is as quick and painless as possible. Our highest priority is a safe, clean, and quick service that will leave you feeling more confident than when you walked in.
We suggest that you stay hydrated and avoid blood thinners (Advil, Motrin, Aleve, etc.) before your appointment as this will help with bruising. It’s also recommended to come with little or no makeup.
We suggest that you come back every 3-4 months to upkeep your Botox results. In between treatments, we are also available for touch-ups.

Why you should add vitamin c serum to your routine
Dr. Kamran Hakimian and Dr. Tina Hakimian advise you to incorporate Vitamin C into your daily routine today! This powerful antioxidant supports collagen production and helps prevent dry skin, which can lead to deep wrinkles.
Our Vitamin C Brightening Serum was specifically formulated by our doctors to meet your skincare needs. This serum includes:
Arbutin – A naturally-derived skin brightener sourced from the Bearberry plant. It helps even out and brighten your skin tone, lighten dark spots, and improve the appearance of scars.
Emblica – This ingredient strengthens the skin and can reduce acne, combat signs of aging and hyperpigmentation, and enhance skin brightness and evenness. Emblica promotes collagen production, protects against free radical damage, and slows the aging process. It’s versatile too—apply it topically, ingest it, or include it in homemade beauty products. As an antioxidant, Emblica helps mitigate the aging process and shields your skin from harmful UV rays. When used on the skin, it boosts collagen production, improves elasticity, and supports the skin’s natural healing, helping to even out your skin tone. You’ll find Emblica in a variety of skincare products, including creams, serums, and masks.
Ubiquinone (CoQ10) – Essential for ATP production, which provides energy for cell functions. CoQ10’s powerful antioxidant properties protect the skin from sun damage and free radicals. It inhibits tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin production, helping to fade and prevent dark spots. By enhancing cell activity, CoQ10 aids in detoxifying cells and repairing damage, while also promoting collagen and elastin production, which can minimize the appearance of fine lines.
The ingredients in our Vitamin C Brightening Serum work together to protect against free radical damage.
What Are Free Radicals?
Free radicals are unstable molecules produced during metabolic processes in our bodies. When their levels exceed those of neutralizing agents, they can inflict oxidative damage on healthy cells, accelerating skin aging and leading to wrinkles. While this aging process is natural, factors such as stress, pollution, and poor diet can exacerbate it. The best defense against free radical damage is to bolster your skin’s natural collagen and elastin production.

The Benefits of Non-Invasive Cosmetic Procedures
Non-invasive cosmetic procedures have gained significant popularity in recent years due to their various benefits over traditional surgical methods. Here are some of the key advantages:
1. Minimal Downtime
- Non-invasive procedures typically require little to no recovery time, allowing patients to resume daily activities almost immediately. This is a major advantage for individuals who want to avoid extended downtime associated with surgeries.
2. Lower Risk
- Because these treatments do not involve surgery, the risks associated with them are significantly lower. There is no need for general anesthesia, which reduces complications, and there is a much lower risk of infection, scarring, or other surgical complications.
3. Cost-Effective
- Non-invasive cosmetic procedures tend to be more affordable than surgical alternatives. While the cost varies depending on the treatment, non-invasive options generally require fewer resources, making them a more budget-friendly option for many people.
4. Quick Procedure Time
- Many non-invasive treatments can be completed in a matter of minutes or a few hours, often referred to as "lunchtime procedures." This convenience makes them ideal for those with busy schedules who want to improve their appearance without sacrificing much time.
5. Natural-Looking Results
- Non-invasive procedures often provide subtle enhancements, resulting in a more natural look compared to dramatic surgical changes. Treatments like Botox, fillers, and laser therapies allow for gradual improvements that enhance one’s appearance without looking overdone.
6. Temporary and Adjustable Results
- Since many non-invasive procedures produce temporary results (e.g., Botox lasting 3-6 months), patients can experiment with different treatments without long-term commitment. This also allows for adjustments and improvements over time.
7. Less Pain and Discomfort
- Most non-invasive procedures are relatively painless or cause minimal discomfort. Many involve only topical anesthetics or cooling techniques to reduce pain, making the experience more comfortable compared to surgical procedures that require incisions and deeper tissue manipulation.
8. Wide Range of Treatment Options
- Non-invasive cosmetic treatments cater to various aesthetic concerns, including wrinkles, skin texture, pigmentation, fat reduction, and body contouring. This versatility allows for targeted treatments based on individual needs without resorting to more drastic measures.
9. Short-Term Commitment
- For those hesitant to commit to permanent changes, non-invasive procedures provide a temporary solution. Patients can see how they feel about the results and make changes without the permanence of surgery.
10. Increased Accessibility
- Due to the lower cost, minimal risk, and quick recovery, non-invasive cosmetic procedures have become more accessible to a broader population, allowing more people to improve their appearance without the barriers associated with surgical interventions.
Overall, non-invasive cosmetic procedures offer a convenient, lower-risk alternative to traditional surgery, appealing to those who seek aesthetic improvements with fewer commitments and complications.
