Why Botox May Not Be Effective: Understanding the Possible Causes

Botox is one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatments for reducing fine lines and wrinkles. However, some patients find that Botox does not work as expected or wears off too quickly. If you’ve experienced this, several factors may be influencing Botox’s effectiveness. Let’s explore the possible reasons why Botox may not be providing the desired results.

1. Heat Exposure

Excessive heat, such as from saunas, hot yoga, or sunbathing, can impact Botox’s effectiveness. Heat increases blood circulation, potentially leading to faster metabolism of the neurotoxin. It is recommended to avoid high-heat environments for at least 24-48 hours after treatment to allow Botox to settle properly.

2. Diet and Increased Metabolism

Your diet and overall metabolic rate can play a role in how long Botox lasts. A diet high in thermogenic foods (such as spicy foods, green tea, and caffeine) or frequent fasting can increase metabolism. People with naturally fast metabolisms may break down Botox more quickly, reducing its longevity.

3. Receiving a Bad Batch of Botox

While rare, there is a possibility that a batch of Botox may not be as potent as expected. Botox should be stored properly at cold temperatures before use. If improperly stored, expired, or diluted incorrectly, its effectiveness may be compromised.

4. Frequent or Intense Exercise

Highly active individuals who engage in intense workouts may metabolize Botox at a faster rate. Exercise increases circulation and metabolic activity, which can cause Botox to break down more quickly than in someone with a more sedentary lifestyle.

5. Insufficient Dosage

If Botox is administered in too small a dose, it may not fully relax the targeted muscles. Some areas, such as the forehead or masseter muscles, require higher doses to achieve noticeable results. A follow-up consultation can determine whether a touch-up or increased dosage is needed.

6. Product Dilution or Quality Issues

In some cases, Botox may be diluted more than necessary, affecting its potency. A highly diluted product will not deliver the same results as a properly concentrated dose. Ensuring that you receive treatment from a qualified and experienced provider can help prevent issues related to product quality.

7. Underlying Medical Conditions

Certain neurological conditions, such as myasthenia gravis or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), can interfere with Botox’s effectiveness. These conditions affect muscle function and may prevent Botox from working as expected. If you have a medical condition that affects your nervous system, discuss it with your provider before treatment.

8. Medication Interactions

Some medications can interfere with Botox’s ability to work effectively. Medications such as aminoglycoside antibiotics (e.g., gentamicin), muscle relaxants, or certain blood thinners may reduce the effectiveness of Botox or increase the risk of side effects. Always inform your provider about any medications or supplements you are taking before receiving Botox.

Final Thoughts

If Botox isn’t working as expected, it’s essential to consider these potential factors. Consulting with a knowledgeable provider can help determine the cause and adjust your treatment plan accordingly. Whether it’s avoiding certain activities, adjusting the dosage, or exploring alternative treatments, understanding why Botox may not be effective can help you achieve the best possible results.

Epicuren Discovery vs. Laser Touch Medical Clinic: Choosing the Right Path to Radiant Skin

In the quest for flawless, youthful skin, two names often surface: Epicuren Discovery and Laser Touch Medical Clinic. While both offer paths to improved skin health, they cater to different needs and employ vastly different approaches. Understanding the nuances of each can help you make an informed decision for your unique skincare journey.

Epicuren Discovery: A Spa-Focused Approach

Epicuren Discovery is a well-regarded skincare brand known for its professional-grade products and spa treatments. Their philosophy centers on using natural ingredients and proprietary enzyme technology to stimulate the skin's own renewal processes.

Key Features of Epicuren Discovery:

  • Natural Ingredients: Emphasizes botanicals, enzymes, and proteins.

  • Enzyme Technology: Claims to boost cellular activity and collagen production.

  • Spa-Centric: Primarily available through spas and licensed estheticians.

  • Focus on Topical Products: Relies heavily on creams, serums, and masks.

  • Gentler Approach: Suitable for those seeking a less invasive skincare routine.

Pros of Epicuren Discovery:

  • Can be a good option for maintaining healthy skin.

  • Relaxing spa experience.

  • Uses many natural ingredients.

Cons of Epicuren Discovery:

  • Results can be gradual and subtle.

  • May not address significant skin concerns like deep wrinkles or severe sun damage effectively.

  • Can be expensive for long term maintainance.

  • Does not offer the same level of medical expertise.

Laser Touch Medical Clinic: Advanced Medical Aesthetics

Laser Touch Medical Clinic takes a different approach, focusing on medical-grade treatments and advanced technologies to achieve dramatic and lasting results. They operate under the supervision of experienced medical professionals, offering a range of services beyond topical skincare.

Key Features of Laser Touch Medical Clinic:

  • Medical Expertise: Treatments administered by trained medical professionals.

  • Advanced Technology: Utilizes lasers, injectables, and other cutting-edge procedures.

  • Targeted Treatments: Addresses specific skin concerns with precision.

  • Long-Term Results: Aims for significant and sustainable improvements.

  • Comprehensive Approach: Offers a wider range of services, including injectables, laser treatments, and medical-grade peels.

Pros of Laser Touch Medical Clinic:

  • Can achieve more significant and faster results.

  • Addresses a wider range of skin concerns, including wrinkles, sun damage, and acne scarring.

  • Medical supervision ensures safety and effectiveness.

  • Customized treatment plans tailored to individual needs.

  • Provides solutions that topical products cannot.

Cons of Laser Touch Medical Clinic:

  • Treatments may involve some downtime.

  • Potentially higher upfront cost, though long term results can reduce long term costs.

  • Requires consultation with a medical professional.

Why Laser Touch Medical Clinic Might Be the Better Choice

For individuals seeking substantial and lasting improvements in their skin, Laser Touch Medical Clinic offers a superior solution. While Epicuren Discovery provides a relaxing spa experience and gentle skincare, it may not be sufficient for addressing more complex skin concerns.

Laser Touch Medical Clinic's medical expertise and advanced technologies allow for targeted treatments that deliver noticeable results. Whether you're looking to reduce wrinkles, eliminate sun damage, or achieve a more youthful appearance, their comprehensive approach can help you achieve your desired outcome.

Both Epicuren Discovery and Laser Touch Medical Clinic have their place in the world of skincare. However, if you're serious about achieving transformative results, Laser Touch Medical Clinic's medical-grade treatments and expert care offer a more effective and reliable path to radiant skin.

The Science Behind Aging Skin: What Happens Over Time

Aging is a natural and unavoidable process, but it also brings changes to our skin. Understanding the science behind these changes can empower us to take better care of our skin at every stage of life. So, let's dive into what's happening beneath the surface.

The Natural Aging Process

As we age, our bodies undergo various physiological changes, and our skin is no exception. These changes are influenced by both intrinsic (internal) and extrinsic (external) factors.

  • Intrinsic Aging:

    • This is the natural, chronological aging process determined by our genetics.

    • It involves a gradual decline in cellular function, including reduced production of essential proteins like collagen and elastin.

  • Extrinsic Aging:

    • This is influenced by environmental factors, such as sun exposure, pollution, smoking, and lifestyle habits.

    • These factors can accelerate the aging process and lead to premature signs of aging.

The Key Players: Collagen, Elastin, and Hydration

Collagen: Boosting the Scaffolding

  • As collagen diminishes, skin loses its firmness. Laser Touch Medical Clinic provides treatments like:

    • Microneedling: This stimulates collagen production by creating tiny micro-injuries in the skin, triggering the body's natural healing process. There is some evidence that microneedling with salmon DNA may be more effective than traditional microneedling at improving skin texture and reducing wrinkles.

    • Radiofrequency (RF) Treatments: RF energy heats the deeper layers of the skin, promoting collagen remodeling and tightening.

    • Laser Treatments: Certain lasers can also stimulate collagen production, improving skin texture and reducing wrinkles.

Elastin: Restoring the "Snap Back"

  • To combat sagging and loss of elasticity, consider:

    • RF Treatments: In addition to collagen, RF can also help to tighten and strengthen elastin fibers.

    • Intense Pulsed Light: IPL uses broad-spectrum light to target various skin concerns like sun damage, redness, and pigmentation. It works by delivering pulses of light that are absorbed by specific chromophores (color-containing molecules) in the skin, such as melanin and hemoglobin.

  • Dryness and dullness can be addressed with:

    • HydraFacial: This treatment cleanses, exfoliates, and hydrates the skin, delivering essential moisture and nutrients.

    • Dermal Fillers: While primarily used for volume restoration, fillers can also improve hydration by attracting and retaining moisture in the skin.

    • Medical Grade Skincare: Laser touch medical clinic also can provide skincare product recommendations containing hyaluronic acid, and other hydrating ingredients.

What This Means For Your Skin:

  • Wrinkles and Fine Lines: The decrease in collagen and elastin, combined with reduced hydration, contributes to the formation of wrinkles and fine lines.

  • Loss of Firmness and Elasticity: Skin becomes looser and less able to bounce back due to the decline in collagen and elastin.

  • Dryness and Dullness: Reduced moisture retention leads to dry, flaky skin and a less radiant appearance.

  • Increased Sensitivity: The skin barrier weakens with age, making it more susceptible to irritation and damage.

  • Changes in pigmentation: age spots, and uneven skin tone can become more prevalent.

What Can You Do?

While we can't stop the aging process, we can take steps to minimize its effects:

  • Sun Protection: Wear sunscreen daily to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

  • Healthy Lifestyle: Eat a balanced diet, stay hydrated, and avoid smoking.

  • Skincare Routine: Use products that contain ingredients like retinoids, peptides, and hyaluronic acid to support collagen production and hydration.

  • Professional Treatments: Consider professional treatments like chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser therapy to address specific concerns.

Understanding the science behind aging skin empowers us to make informed choices about our skincare and embrace the natural beauty of every age.

Hollywood’s Newest rejuvenation Trend? Salmon Sperm

Salmon PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide), derived from the sperm of salmon trout and chum salmon, is a potent anti-aging agent that stimulates collagen and elastin production, enhancing skin elasticity and firmness. Among celebrities, from Kim Kardashian to Jennifer Aniston, achieve their glowing, flawless and radiant skin by rubbing salmon sperm on their face. It is endorsed by some of the most well-respected anti-aging experts in the 90210 and 90211. Here’s everything you need to know about Salmon PDRN and why it’s gaining worldwide popularity.

Rejuvenate, Repair, and Reveal Radiant Skin with the Power of Salmon DNA

What is salmon pdrn?

According to its devoted adherents, it is a miracle reverser of all bad things: saggy, de-wrinkling, de-aging and de-puffing tired skin back to its youth. Salmon sperm DNA, specifically its polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN), is recognized in skincare for its regenerative and anti-aging properties. This compound is derived from the DNA of salmon sperm through purification processes and is commonly used in Korean beauty products. PDRN has gained popularity due to its ability to stimulate cell regeneration, collagen production, and elastin growth, making it effective in reducing wrinkles, improving skin elasticity, and evening out skin tone.

How Salmon PDRN Works?

The DNA derived from salmon, particularly in the form of polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN), closely resembles human DNA, which enhances its biocompatibility and efficacy in skin treatments. This similarity allows PDRN to integrate effectively with human skin, supporting natural healing processes, cellular regeneration, and collagen production. It works by activating adenosine A2A receptors, providing nucleotides for cellular repair, and promoting cell regeneration, which leads to a fresher, more youthful appearance. Its compatibility minimizes the risk of adverse reactions while optimizing its rejuvenating effects. Salmon sperm facial involves the injection of Rejuran (a long-chain polynucleotide DNA of salmon milt) in microdroplets under the skin of the face and neck. One of the other main ingredients is hyaluronic acid (HA).

Benefits of Salmon PDRN

Skin Regeneration and Collagen Production

When polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN), derived from salmon DNA, is delivered via injections or topical application, it binds to the adenosine A2A receptor. This interaction reduces inflammation and accelerates tissue repair, which are vital for maintaining skin health. PDRN promotes cell proliferation by supplying essential nucleotides for DNA synthesis, supporting cellular rejuvenation.

This regenerative process boosts skin elasticity by enhancing collagen and elastin production, leading to firmer, more resilient skin. Elevated collagen levels help diminish visible signs of aging, including fine lines and wrinkles, while improving overall skin texture. Furthermore, PDRN aids in wound healing by stimulating tissue regeneration and increasing the production of hyaluronic acid, a critical molecule for maintaining skin hydration and suppleness.Hydration and Moisture Retention

Anti-Inflammatory and Healing Properties

Activation of Adenosine A2A Receptor: PDRN activates the adenosine A2A receptor, which helps manage the inflammatory response and apoptotic process, contributing to tissue repair and healing:

  • Reduced Inflammation: PDRN has been shown to reduce inflammation by inhibiting inflammatory cytokines and promoting anti-inflammatory pathways, making it beneficial for calming irritated skin and reducing redness.

  • Tissue Regeneration: PDRN stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which aids in skin regeneration and improves skin elasticity and firmness.

  • Wound Healing: Research studies have demonstrated that PDRN accelerates wound healing by promoting cell migration and tissue repair, making it effective for treating damaged skin.

  • Dosage Recommendations: While dosage recommendations may vary, PDRN is typically administered through microinjections or topical applications, with regular treatments often recommended for sustained benefits.

Methods of Application

Injection Techniques

Injecting polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) directly into the dermis is a widely used and effective method for skin rejuvenation. This technique, commonly referred to as Rejuran Healer, bypasses the skin's outer layer to deliver PDRN directly to fibroblasts in the dermis. Fibroblasts are key players in collagen synthesis, and this targeted delivery stimulates collagen production, promotes cell regeneration, and enhances overall skin hydration and elasticity.

Topical Application

The topical application of polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) is a less invasive alternative to injections, but its effectiveness is still being studied. Research indicates that the skin’s natural barrier can limit the penetration of DNA fragments, preventing them from reaching the dermis where they exert their regenerative effects

Is Salmon PDRN Safe?

Thanks to its compatibility with human DNA, Salmon PDRN minimizes the risk of adverse reactions. However, it is essential to consult with a dermatologist or licensed practitioner to determine the best treatment plan for your skin type and needs. Note that while PDRN is widely used in many countries, it is not yet FDA-approved in some regions.

Why Choose Salmon PDRN?

From its anti-aging benefits to its role in skin repair and hydration, Salmon PDRN offers a holistic approach to skincare. Whether you opt for microinjections or topical applications, the results are compelling: firmer, smoother, and more youthful skin. Celebrities and skincare enthusiasts alike swear by its transformative effects, making it a must-try for anyone seeking the ultimate glow.

If you’re ready to experience the rejuvenating effects of Salmon PDRN, the Rejuran Healer treatment at Laser Touch Medical Clinic offers a cutting-edge solution. Our expert practitioners deliver microinjections of Salmon PDRN directly into the dermis, targeting collagen production and cellular regeneration for visibly younger, healthier skin. Anti-Aging Elixir: Synchro’s Gold Medical Degree Liposomal Turmeric Capsules

The Ultimate Anti-Aging Supplement from Laser Touch Medical Clinic

Are you searching for a revolutionary anti-aging solution? Laser Touch Medical Clinic proudly introduces Synchro’s Gold Medical Degree Liposomal Turmeric Capsules, an innovative turmeric supplement designed to deliver powerful health benefits. Unlike conventional turmeric supplements, Synchro’s Gold uses cutting-edge liposomal nano-encapsulation technology for superior absorption and maximum efficacy.

What Makes Gold Liposomal Turmeric Capsules Unique?

Most traditional turmeric supplements lose potency during digestion because enzymes and acids in the stomach break them down before they’re absorbed. Synchro’s Gold bypasses this issue with its proprietary liposomal nano-encapsulation technology, which protects turmeric extracts and ensures they are delivered directly to gut epithelial cells. This innovative process enhances bioavailability, making Synchro’s Gold far more effective than non-liposomal alternatives.

Endorsed by Dr. Kamran Hakimian and Dr. Tina Hakimian, Synchro’s Gold Medical Degree Liposomal Turmeric Capsules is a top recommendation for individuals seeking the best in anti-aging supplements and overall health support.

Key Benefits of Synchro’s Gold: Medical Degree Liposomal Turmeric Capsules

1. Reverses Signs of Biological Aging

The active compound Ar-Turmerone stimulates neural stem cell proliferation, offering potential benefits in reversing age-related neurodegeneration. This makes Gold an excellent choice for brain health and longevity. By promoting the regeneration of neural cells, it may help combat the cognitive decline associated with aging.

2. Neuroprotective and Cardiovascular Support

Both Ar-Turmerone and Curcumin, the primary bioactives in Synchro’s Gold, provide robust neuroprotective properties. These compounds help lower LDL cholesterol and other lipids linked to heart disease while boosting the production of immune cells. This dual action supports your heart and immune system, protecting against viral and bacterial infections. A healthier cardiovascular system also contributes to improved overall well-being and increased longevity.

3. Improves Joint Mobility and Comfort

Curcumin and Ar-Turmerone are proven to reduce intra-joint inflammation, alleviating discomfort and restoring mobility even in cases of severe joint degeneration. If you’re struggling with joint pain, arthritis, or other mobility issues, Synchro’s Gold provides a natural solution that can enhance your quality of life.

4. Balances Inflammation Effectively

Thanks to its advanced liposomal delivery system, Synchro’s Gold enhances the body’s ability to manage inflammation by up to 600% compared to conventional turmeric supplements. Clinical studies have shown significant reductions in key inflammatory markers, including Hs-CRP (high-sensitivity C-reactive protein) and ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate). By addressing chronic inflammation, Synchro’s Gold promotes a healthier internal environment, reducing the risk of conditions like arthritis, cardiovascular disease, and autoimmune disorders.

Additional Benefits of Synchro’s Gold: Medical Degree Liposomal Turmeric Capsules

Enhanced Immune Function

The immune-boosting properties of turmeric, especially in its bioavailable form, are well-documented. Gold’s unique formula supports the production of immune cells, strengthening your body’s natural defenses against infections and illnesses. A strong immune system is crucial for maintaining health as you age.

Natural Detoxification

Curcumin and Ar-Turmerone are known for their detoxifying effects. They help the body eliminate harmful toxins and reduce oxidative stress, both of which are critical for maintaining youthful energy and vitality.

Supports Skin Health

Inflammation is a leading cause of premature skin aging. By reducing systemic inflammation, Synchro’s Gold can improve skin elasticity, reduce redness, and promote a glowing complexion. Regular use may help you achieve radiant, youthful skin from the inside out.

Why Choose Synchro’s Gold: Medical Degree Liposomal Turmeric Capsules?

At Laser Touch Medical Clinic, we prioritize offering the most effective and science-backed anti-aging products. Synchro’s Gold stands out as a must-have supplement for individuals seeking vibrant health, enhanced longevity, and relief from inflammation-related issues.

PRP Microneedling: The Ultimate Solution for Neck Rejuvenation at Laser Touch Medical Clinic

As we age, the skin on our neck can begin to sag and develop lines and wrinkles. This natural aging process can leave us feeling self-conscious about our appearance. However, with advancements in non-surgical aesthetic treatments, there are now effective ways to target and reduce the appearance of the neck without going under the knife. Popular treatments that can help rejuvenate the neck area are Dermal fillers , PRP microneedling, and Botox. In this post, we’ll dive into how these treatments work and why they can be a game-changer for those looking to improve the contours of their neck.

Say Hello to a Rejuvenated Neck with PRP Microneedling at Laser Touch Medical Clinic

Are you struggling with sagging skin on your neck? PRP microneedling is a revolutionary treatment that can restore a youthful, smooth neck contour. At Laser Touch Medical Clinic, serving Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Encino, Santa Ana, and the surrounding areas, we offer this cutting-edge solution to help you rejuvenate your neck and regain your confidence.

How Does PRP Microneedling Work?

PRP microneedling combines two advanced skin rejuvenation techniques to improve the appearance of the neck:

  1. Microneedling: Tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting skin tightening. This process helps reduce sagging and improves skin texture.

  2. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP): PRP is derived from your own blood. After a small blood draw, your blood is processed to isolate growth factors that promote healing and accelerate collagen and elastin production when injected into the microneedled areas.

The combination of these techniques helps rejuvenate the skin on your neck, providing both immediate and long-term benefits.

The Benefits of PRP Microneedling for a rejuvenated Neck

PRP microneedling offers numerous advantages for those concerned with sagging skin, especially on the delicate neck area. Here are the key benefits:

  • Natural Rejuvenation: Utilizing your body's own healing factors, PRP microneedling provides a safe and natural way to tighten skin and promote a youthful appearance.

  • Improved Skin Texture: PRP microneedling reduces fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone, resulting in smoother, more youthful skin.

  • Enhanced Skin Elasticity: The treatment helps to tighten sagging skin, improving the contour and overall appearance of your neck.

  • Minimal Downtime: With minimal recovery time, you can get back to your normal routine quickly, making this an excellent option for busy individuals in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Encino, Santa Ana, and beyond.

  • Long-Lasting Results: Collagen and elastin production is stimulated, giving you lasting skin improvement over time.

A close-up image of a microneedling procedure on the face, showing Dr. Tina Hakimian using a handheld device with fine needles to treat the skin. The setting appears clinical, focusing on improving skin texture and promoting collagen production.

Maximize Your Results with Dermal Fillers and PRP Microneedling

For even more dramatic results, consider combining dermal fillers with PRP microneedling. Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that restore volume to areas of the face and neck that have lost youthful fullness, fillers can be used to:

  • Lift and tighten sagging skin: Fillers add structure to the skin, helping to tighten and lift areas that have become loose or droopy.

  • Smooth out lines and wrinkles: By filling in hollows and creases, fillers create a smoother, more youthful appearance.

  • Restore volume in the neck: As we age, we lose fat in the neck area, which can contribute to the sagging effect. Fillers can replace lost volume, providing a subtle, natural lift.

Common dermal fillers used for the neck area include hyaluronic acid-based fillers (like Skinvive) or calcium hydroxylapatite-based fillers (like Radiesse), which are known for their lifting properties. These fillers are injected just beneath the skin, and the results can last anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending on the specific filler used.

Botox for a Smoother Appearance

Botox, known for its ability to treat dynamic wrinkles, can also be a highly effective treatment for the neck. Botox works by temporarily relaxing the muscles responsible for wrinkling and sagging skin. In the case of the neck, Botox can be injected into the platysma muscle (the band-like muscle on the front and sides of the neck) to soften the appearance of vertical bands.

Botox not only reduces the visibility of these muscle bands but can also prevent further sagging by limiting the muscle contractions that contribute to skin laxity. The results are typically visible within a few days and can last up to 3 to 4 months, with minimal downtime. For many patients, Botox can be a quick and effective way to rejuvenate the neck area and achieve a smoother, more youthful neckline.

Kiss and tell

At Laser Touch Medical Clinic, we specialize in dermal fillers, specifically for the lips, including renowned options such as Allergan’s JUVÉDERM® Volbella,  ASPIRE Restylane® Kysse,  RHA® Collection Redensity.

Dr. Kamran Hakimian and Dr. Tina Hakimian are passionate about helping you achieve your aesthetic goals. Our doctors suggest coming in for a consultation prior to the procedure, but here are some popular lip filler shapes that may help you describe the look you are going for:

Classic - This is a minimal look that enhances your natural lip shape. This may be ideal for those who are getting filler in their lips for the very first time or for those that want volume but do not want to alter the current shape of their lips too much.

Cupid’s Bow - This will accentuate the peaks of the bow and creates harmony between the upper and lower lip. This style makes for a youthful look.

Hollywood - Like the name suggests, this style is often seen in the movie industry. All three forms of the upper lip are expressed with a rounded out upper tail section. The upper lip is extended and curled with less emphasis on the lower lip.

Goddess - This is the full expression of all five lip planes. This style of lip filler is ideal for those who have enough space between the bottom of the nose and the chin. Dare to be bold with this shape.

Facts about Lip Fillers:

• Fillers typically last 4-12 months, depending on the product and individual factors.

• The procedure is almost painless, as your lips will be numbed and cold ice will be applied before the injection.

Microneedling: what to know

Close-up of a microneedling treatment being performed on a patient's face, with a dermaroller device used to create tiny punctures in the skin for collagen stimulation.

Dr. Tina Hakimian is pictured above performing a Vampire Facial on a client.

Microneedling (also known as the Vampire Facial or PRP) is not as daunting as the name suggests. Our microneedling procedure stimulates collagen production, reduces acne scars and pore size, as well as, treats hyperpigmentation.

This is an extremely safe procedure and when combined with proper skin care, can help you achieve younger-looking skin. Results can last up to 18 months and will not interfere with your other aesthetic treatments (Botox and filler).

PRP or platelet-rich plasma therapy uses your own plasma and platelets (blood cells) to trigger your body’s natural healing process. Your skin will feel and look rejuvenated after just one microneedling treatment, although three sessions are recommended by our doctors.

We use a reciprocal-based pen instead of a spring-based pen unlike other clinics which produces more uniform and enhanced results with a lower risk of skin damage.

Process:

  1. Blood is drawn from your arm - our doctors will draw one vial from you and spin it in a centrifuge.

  2. Numbing - our staff will help numb your skin and prep it for your microneedling procedure.

  3. Injection - the platelet dense part of your blood will be injected into your skin. We call this your “liquid gold”.

After-care:

  1. Avoid scrubbing your skin vigorously for the first 12-24 hours.

  2. We suggest staying away from substances that disrupt platelet activity (pain relievers, blood thinners, steroids, alcohol, smoking, caffeine).

  3. Please be careful with extreme temperature changes (sauna or ice bath).

  4. Use a gentle cleanser.

  5. Be sure to use sunscreen.

Your skin may be red and you may bleed a little after the procedure concludes. This is where the name “Vampire Facial” originates from.

Please visit our gallery to see results of the treatment and keep an eye out for upcoming promotions for microneedling (Vampire Facial).

Fact vs. myth: retinol edition

There are many misconceptions about retinol and its uses. Dr. Kamran Hakimian and Dr. Tina Hakimian hope that they can clear up some of the misunderstandings that you may have about retinol products.

  1. MYTH: The “Purge”

Many people believe that retinol causes them to experience a period of “purging” that involves peeling, irritation, and breakouts. This, however, is not true. Starting with a low amount of retinol and gradually increasing frequency or amount can help you avoid the severe side effects. Results usually show around 12 weeks after starting treatment.

2. MYTH: Retinol vs. Retin-A

Retinol is a form of vitamin A that naturally occurs. Retin-A is a chemical compound related to vitamin A. Retinol is found in over-the-counter products and is weaker than Retin-A which must be prescribed by a doctor.

3. FACT: You can start Retinol early

It is acceptable and, at times, recommended that young people start using retinol. It is completely safe and keeps skin looking healthy and youthful!

4. FACT: Retinol must be used regularly.

If you wish to see results, you must regularly incorporate retinol into your skincare routine. Your skin will adapt to the potency of the retinol you use therefore you need to increase the strength or amount you use as you continue to use the product. If you stop using it, you will have to start over again from zero.

They will answer any questions you may have and provide guidance on the best treatment for you. This consultation typically lasts around 30 minutes and can be easily scheduled by calling our office or submitting a contact form through our website.

Once you decide on a treatment route, our staff will assist you in applying any numbing cream that you may need. We suggest that you purchase your own numbing cream if you would like to make Botox a regular addition to your regular skin maintenance routine. You should put 1-2 layers on before arriving at your appointment.

A typical Botox treatment will take around 20-30 minutes. Our experienced doctors will ensure that this process is as quick and painless as possible. Our highest priority is a safe, clean, and quick service that will leave you feeling more confident than when you walked in.

We suggest that you stay hydrated and avoid blood thinners (Advil, Motrin, Aleve, etc.) before your appointment as this will help with bruising. It’s also recommended to come with little or no makeup.

We suggest that you come back every 3-4 months to upkeep your Botox results. In between treatments, we are also available for touch-ups.

Why you should add vitamin c serum to your routine

Dr. Kamran Hakimian and Dr. Tina Hakimian advise you to incorporate Vitamin C into your daily routine today! This powerful antioxidant supports collagen production and helps prevent dry skin, which can lead to deep wrinkles.

Bottle of Vitamin C brightening serum with citrus fruits, promoting radiant and even-toned skin.

Our Vitamin C Brightening Serum was specifically formulated by our doctors to meet your skincare needs. This serum includes:

Arbutin – A naturally-derived skin brightener sourced from the Bearberry plant. It helps even out and brighten your skin tone, lighten dark spots, and improve the appearance of scars.

Emblica – This ingredient strengthens the skin and can reduce acne, combat signs of aging and hyperpigmentation, and enhance skin brightness and evenness. Emblica promotes collagen production, protects against free radical damage, and slows the aging process. It’s versatile too—apply it topically, ingest it, or include it in homemade beauty products. As an antioxidant, Emblica helps mitigate the aging process and shields your skin from harmful UV rays. When used on the skin, it boosts collagen production, improves elasticity, and supports the skin’s natural healing, helping to even out your skin tone. You’ll find Emblica in a variety of skincare products, including creams, serums, and masks.

Ubiquinone (CoQ10) – Essential for ATP production, which provides energy for cell functions. CoQ10’s powerful antioxidant properties protect the skin from sun damage and free radicals. It inhibits tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin production, helping to fade and prevent dark spots. By enhancing cell activity, CoQ10 aids in detoxifying cells and repairing damage, while also promoting collagen and elastin production, which can minimize the appearance of fine lines.

The ingredients in our Vitamin C Brightening Serum work together to protect against free radical damage.

What Are Free Radicals?

Free radicals are unstable molecules produced during metabolic processes in our bodies. When their levels exceed those of neutralizing agents, they can inflict oxidative damage on healthy cells, accelerating skin aging and leading to wrinkles. While this aging process is natural, factors such as stress, pollution, and poor diet can exacerbate it. The best defense against free radical damage is to bolster your skin’s natural collagen and elastin production.

The Benefits of Non-Invasive Cosmetic Procedures

Non-invasive cosmetic procedures have gained significant popularity in recent years due to their various benefits over traditional surgical methods. Here are some of the key advantages:

1. Minimal Downtime

   - Non-invasive procedures typically require little to no recovery time, allowing patients to resume daily activities almost immediately. This is a major advantage for individuals who want to avoid extended downtime associated with surgeries.

2. Lower Risk

   - Because these treatments do not involve surgery, the risks associated with them are significantly lower. There is no need for general anesthesia, which reduces complications, and there is a much lower risk of infection, scarring, or other surgical complications.

3. Cost-Effective

   - Non-invasive cosmetic procedures tend to be more affordable than surgical alternatives. While the cost varies depending on the treatment, non-invasive options generally require fewer resources, making them a more budget-friendly option for many people.

4. Quick Procedure Time

   - Many non-invasive treatments can be completed in a matter of minutes or a few hours, often referred to as "lunchtime procedures." This convenience makes them ideal for those with busy schedules who want to improve their appearance without sacrificing much time.

5. Natural-Looking Results

   - Non-invasive procedures often provide subtle enhancements, resulting in a more natural look compared to dramatic surgical changes. Treatments like Botox, fillers, and laser therapies allow for gradual improvements that enhance one’s appearance without looking overdone.

6. Temporary and Adjustable Results

   - Since many non-invasive procedures produce temporary results (e.g., Botox lasting 3-6 months), patients can experiment with different treatments without long-term commitment. This also allows for adjustments and improvements over time.

7. Less Pain and Discomfort

   - Most non-invasive procedures are relatively painless or cause minimal discomfort. Many involve only topical anesthetics or cooling techniques to reduce pain, making the experience more comfortable compared to surgical procedures that require incisions and deeper tissue manipulation.

8. Wide Range of Treatment Options

   - Non-invasive cosmetic treatments cater to various aesthetic concerns, including wrinkles, skin texture, pigmentation, fat reduction, and body contouring. This versatility allows for targeted treatments based on individual needs without resorting to more drastic measures.

9. Short-Term Commitment

   - For those hesitant to commit to permanent changes, non-invasive procedures provide a temporary solution. Patients can see how they feel about the results and make changes without the permanence of surgery.

10. Increased Accessibility

   - Due to the lower cost, minimal risk, and quick recovery, non-invasive cosmetic procedures have become more accessible to a broader population, allowing more people to improve their appearance without the barriers associated with surgical interventions.

Overall, non-invasive cosmetic procedures offer a convenient, lower-risk alternative to traditional surgery, appealing to those who seek aesthetic improvements with fewer commitments and complications.
